The answer is simple. They’ve never been trained in how to build relationships with people first!
People are the most valuable resource in your MLM business. They are the foundation stones of your future success. I personally know of extremely successful MLM business owners who only have a few hundred Facebook friends. You see, it’s not quantity. It’s quality that makes the difference.
I’ve made it my new year’s resolution to get to know everyone on my list. It may take a few months but it’s something I believe is important if you are serious about building a strong business.
Why? Because people join people. They don’t join companies or products!
How do you feel when you go to your mail box and find it overflowing with flyers and catalogues for all kinds of useless junk? If you’re like me most of it goes straight into the bin, so what makes you think that serious network marketers are going to join you simply because you spammed your opportunity link onto their Facebook wall?
It’s the same within network marketing group pages. Many of these have been set up to exchange information between marketers but others see it as another opportunity to SPAM their link into people’s faces, unaware that they are actually damaging their own professional image in the process. The only people that will respond to this kind of marketing are desperate opportunists and tire kickers who won’t go the distance anyway.
To attract quality people, first you have to sell yourself. Show the world why YOU are the person to help them build their own empire.

ReplyDeleteit's so true: It's all about relationship building. If we see our Facebook as leads, even as potential leads, we're already done. They might become leads, or not. Everything's fine.

Thanks Oliver, it always amazes me when people calling themselves network marketers invite you to be their friend on facebook and then after you accept their request you never have any further communication from them other than opportunity links being spammed at you. To build a solid MLM business first you have to sell yourself. People join people they don't join companies.

I have a FB list of just over 500 and I struggle to keep constant communication with each one.And it doesn't help much when your still learning the ropes yourself...lol.

ReplyDeleteMaking the effort to actually connect with your fb list is what sets you apart from the "spammers" of the network marketing industry. Why would I want to join a business when 100 other people have posted the exact same link? By showing the world who you are and what YOU have to offer as a leader that others would want to follow is the way to success.
